A Democrat will represent District 34 after a special election held, Tuesday.
J.J. Dossett defeated Republican candidate David McLain to serve north Tulsa County. He won the election with 56% of the vote.
Dossett is replacing former Senator Rick Brinkley. Brinkley resigned after pleading guilty in August to embezzling funds from the Better Business Bureau of Tulsa.
Brinkley admitted to stealing $1.8 million from the nonprofit where he worked. He served as state senator for five years.
