TULSA – A former Union Public Schools band instructor was sentenced to spend 13 years behind bars for receiving child pornography.
James Wilson, 32, was indicted by a grand jury in April and pleaded guilty on June 14, according to the Department of Justice.
Wilson is said to have shared messages with a 12 year old girl he met on Instagram. The conversations were shared over an online messaging program called Kik and the relationship took place starting October 2014 to December 2014.
The conversations reportedly turned sexual after Wilson requested the girl send him sexually explicit photos and sent her ones in return.
Wilson will also spend twenty years in supervised release, reports the DOJ.
Wilson was suspended from his job at Union Public Schools and later resigned.
