TULSA, Okla. — A pit bull in Bristow ended up in the animal hospital after a dog fight, but allegedly not from bites.
Kimberly Arnett says the situation escalated when her neighbor, who owns one of the dogs in the fight, grabbed a machete.
Arnett says he began swinging the machete at the dog's head.
"I tried to stop him and there was no stopping this man," Arnett said.
Arnett says she feared for her own safety and called the police.
Bristow police tell 2 Works for You the case is an active investigation and they declined to comment, other than saying it will be turned over to the Creek County District Attorney.
Arnett says she is devastated by what she witnessed.
"Absolutely heartbreaking to see the act of violence that I could not control," Arnett said.
We did reach out to the neighbor who owns the other dog. He's the father of the man Arnett says used the machete.
He says Arnett's fence is not up to code and needs to be repaired.
He has placed pallets against the fence to close the openings where the dogs can get through.
His son could not be reached for comment.
