LEXINGTON, Okla. (KOCO) — Authorities are asking for the public's help finding an inmate who escaped Saturday from an Oklahoma Department of Corrections facility in Lexington, officials said.
Ronnie Henderson, 32, was not in his cell during the 6 p.m. head count Saturday at the Rex Thompson Minimum Security Unit at the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center.
According to online records, Henderson was serving 40 years for nonviolent offenses, including drug-related crimes and eluding a police officer. Henderson started his sentence in December 2007, online records say.
Authorities did not say which direction Henderson was heading. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Henderson's known alias is Rolando Henderson, according to online records.
Lexington is about a half hour south of Norman.
Anyone with information about Henderson's whereabouts is asked to call 405-527-5593. Authorities advise that anyone who sees Henderson or any other escaped inmate should not take their own action and immediately call a law-enforcement agency.
