For families who might need a little help with funds for cooling assistance during the hot summer months, there is an answer.
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services is offering funding assistance for those in need through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program or LIHEAP.

LIHEAP offers funding for lower income households that are “extremely vulnerable to summer heat stresses.”

Eligibility for LIHEAP is based off each household’s income and assets. Overall, the agency has around $18 million in federal funding to allocate for this year's summer cooling program in Oklahoma.
