Bartlett plans to seek 3rd term as Tulsa mayor

Posted

TULSA – Mayor Dewey Bartlett announced his plan to seek a third term as mayor of the city of Tulsa.

“My intention is to definitely run for a third term as mayor of Tulsa. However, this city has only two years ago experienced an exhaustive yearlong election cycle and I don’t want to start a campaign as a candidate too early,” Mayor Dewey F. Bartlett Jr. said. “In addition, I have to be confident that we have settled on projects and operational funding that will be included in the Vision renewal plan. It is difficult to be mayor and a candidate with many critical elements still undecided.”

The mayor's press secretary said Tuesday that issues surrounding Vision 2025 will delay his official campaign, but we can expect the mayor on the trail soon.

Tulsa City Councilor GT Bynum has already announced his intention to run for mayor.
