Deputy loses contact during pursuit

OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. - An Osage County Deputy is safe after dispatch lost contact with him during a chase Thursday night.

Deputies say it happened near the LL Tisdale and Apache Street when a deputy tried to pull someone over. After stopping, officials say the suspect got out of the SUV and fled the scene.

While searching for the suspect, the deputy said he lost his radio and cellphone. Tulsa police called to the scene were able to find the suspect and deputy nearby in the woods.

Police say the suspect, Manuel Deleon, was taken to the hospital under suspicion of ingesting drugs. After being released from the hospital, police say he will be booked into the Osage County Jail.
