OCHELATA, Okla. -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a woman's death after a shooting Tuesday morning near Ochelata.
The shooting investigation happened on West 2900 Road in Washington County at the Prairie View trailer park.
Officials said Michele E. Mayes was found with a gunshot wound in the front yard of a trailer home in the area.
Officials said John Jeffrey Thomas was found with a gunshot wound to his upper torso area.
The sheriff's office said Thomas was in critical but stable condition.
Deputies said there was a previous history of domestic violence between the victim and suspect.
The medical examiner has been called to the scene.
