Deputies arrest man wanted for 2016 murder

TULSA — A man who's been wanted since 2016 in connection to a murder has been arrested.

Markees Johnson was arrested by Tulsa County Sheriff's Office deputies Monday and booked into the Tulsa County Jail.

Johnson was wanted for the October 2016 shooting death of a 41-year-old man at the Savanna Landing Apartments near 61st and Peoria.

Tulsa police said that Johnson had confronted a man with a gun and when the intended target tried to get away, another man was shot and killed.
