JENKS — Reese Phillips, who is the daughter of the late Tulsa firefighter Ryan Phillips, received a memorable birthday surprise on Monday.

Reese, who turns 9 today, woke up to a yard full of pink flamingos.

This is the first birthday Reese will spend without her father, who died of natural causes a few weeks ago.
"We are out here celebrating Reese's birthday today," neighbor Bridgette Nehring said. "She lost her dad a couple of weeks ago and this community is rallying together to make it happen for her."
Nehring said hundreds of people got involved to make this happen for Reese.
"We can't thank the fire department and how tremendously helpful in organizing everything," Nehring said.
