Dash cam video released Tuesday shows the pursuit and arrest of a man accused of assaulting a police officer.
The pursuit and arrest of Justin Valentin happened Aug. 13 around 10:30 p.m. near 4700 South Yale.
Officers said the incident started at 41st and Yale, when an officer pulled over Valentin after smelling marijuana in his vehicle.
Police said after being pulled over, he sped away and crashed his vehicle into a traffic light pole on Yale near I-44.
Valentin tried to run away but was arrested at a gas station nearby.
Valentin, 26, was arrested on counts of assault and battery on an officer, leaving the scene of an accident, eluding police and possession of marijuana.
