TULSA — Emergency crews on Wednesday afternoon searched along the Arkansas River in south Tulsa after a report of someone being swept away by the flooded Arkansas River.
Heather Nicole Jeffries since has been arrested for making a false report.
First responders were called out near 81st and Riverside. Police and fire crews searched along the banks of the river, even deploying swift boats, but found no body.
The search put authorities in imminent danger before they determined it all was a hoax, they said.
According to a booking report, Jeffries changed her story multiple times before telling police she didn't think anyone would believe her, then she was afraid she would get into trouble.
