Businesses evacuated in midst of investigation into odor of ammonia in midtown Tulsa

TULSA -- Crews give an all clear after investigating an odor of ammonia was reported after a car crash in midtown Tulsa.

The odor was reported in the area of the 4100 block of South 70th East Avenue. Businesses between 41st and 44th Street are being evacuated as a precaution.

Haz mat crews found the leak at Windsor Foods on 44th Street. The smell came from a refrigerant leak, officials said. Crews have isolated the leak and are working to stop it. 

Officials said the strong smell "took your breath away."

No injuries have been reported in the incident.
