OWASSO, Okla. - Crews demolished the Bird Creek Bridge near Owasso Sunday morning in an effort to expand the highway.
The northbound bridge was torn down around 6 in the morning following the demolition of the southbound bridge in December of 2015.
The demolition is part of a $45 million project to widen the highway from four to six lanes between 56th Street North and 66th Street North.
In total, eight bridges are set to be demolished for the project expected to draw to a close in 2017.
