SAPULPA, Okla. - Firefighters kept an eye out for hot spots after battling a blaze at a large house in Sapulpa Friday.

"Fire crews say they are still keeping an eye on the structure for flare ups,” said Chief David Taylor, Sapulpa Fire Department.

According to fire crews, the home located at S. 44th and W. 93rd is a total loss after strong winds amped the already large flames that started in the attic of the home.

No one was home when the fire erupted.

Officials say wind made fighting the flames from spreading throughout the home a challenge.

Fire crews were unable to fight the fire from inside the home because of the danger of the roof caving in on them.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
