Crash victim at 81st Street and Highway 75 has died

Posted

TULSA - Authorities say a 67-year-old man died Wednesday morning after losing control of his truck and trailer and rolling down an embankment off Highway 75 near 81st Street South.

The Tulsa Police Department say Homer David Wesley veered off the road and rolled down the hill near the 81st Street exit sign about 11:30 a.m. Wesley's brother was also in the truck, but was not injured.

Wesley was traveling southbound when several witnesses reported the truck swerving and going off the road. Police say the Ford Ranger XLT, with a camper shell, and pulling a small trailer loaded with lumber, struck a metal exit sign and eventually came to rest at the bottom of the embankment.

Wesley's brother pulled him from the wreckage and several bystanders. TPD and the Tulsa Fire Department then attempted CPR and when EMSA arrived, Wesley was transported to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The accident is under investigation.
