TULSA, Okla. — When Oklahoma returns to having big events, Tulsa has a premier spot for hosting.

On Tuesday, the city celebrated the grand reopening of the Cox Business Convention Center after a $55 million renovation, which includes changing the former arena into a multi-use space.

Mayor G.T. Bynum said this world class facility will double capacity and have a substantial impact for the city.

"It will allow us to attract larger events and more events and that's bringing in outside dollars into our local economy, then stay here and recirculate here. That's why tourism is so important," Bynum said.

The project was paid for with Vision 2025 tax.
