TULSA, Okla. — Another blow to Tulsa’s economy could be near.
The manager over the BOK and COX Business centers says they are expecting events for the rest of the year to be canceled.
General Manager Casey Sparks says they are preparing for the worst because of the pandemic.
Venue employees are being furloughed to cut expenses.
Online, the BOK has 19 events posted for 2020. The first one scheduled for late June. Three events are canceled and two are postponed.
COX has 19 events listed online for the rest of the year.
While both centers sit vacant, Sparks says they expect to use money from a $17 million capital reserve to pay ongoing costs like utilities.
