TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith announced Wednesday she tested positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook caption, Keith said she and her husband, Pat, both contracted the coronavirus during a road trip. She received a positive test result from Oklahoma State University Medical Center.

"I feel pretty certain that one of our first stops at a convenience store in the Texas panhandle where no one was wearing masks resulted in the exposure," Keith said.

Although she lost her sense of smell and taste, Keith said she has "bursts of energy" and Pat has a dry cough and some aches.

Keith said they both quarantined as soon as they got back.
