TULSA, Okla. - Country singer Jason Aldean resumed his "They Don't Know" tour in Tulsa on Thursday evening 11 days after the deadly massacre in Las Vegas.

Before he performed, he took a few minutes to talk about the shooting.

"It's been a really tough thing to deal with for all of us up here. I think the one thing that is going to help us is play for you guys tonight so thank you all so much for coming out," said Aldean.

He told his fans that fear shouldn't rule their lives and prevent them from doing what they love.

"It has been really cool to see all the love and support that has been going on over the last 10 days or so because of what happened in Las Vegas, and I just feel like if we can do that on a daily basis, man, the world would be a lot better place," said Aldean

The singer and his band played at the Route 91 Harvest concert on October 1 when a gunman opened fire, killing 58 people and injuring more than 500 other.

On October 3, Aldean canceled three shows in California out of respect for the victims and their families.

He released the following statement after the tragedy:

"It has been an emotional time for everyone involved this week, so we plan to take some time to mourn the ones we have lost and be close with our family and friends," he said. He also issued a rallying cry for Americans to come together.

Aldean hit the stage Thursday night at the BOK Center with country singers Chris Young and Kane Brown.

His next stop will be Little Rock, Arkansas and then he'll be off to Indiana and Ohio.
