TULSA — A groundbreaking ceremony is being held Friday for the new health care center for veterans in Tulsa.

The Ernest Childers VA Health Care Center will consolidate all three of the current outpatient medical centers for veterans in Tulsa.

The campus, located near 89th and South Mingo, will be 140,000 square feet with 945 parking spaces.

The two-story facility will be able to service veterans' needs ranging from audiology to physical therapy to radiology to women's health care.

The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee will continue to provide inpatient care and emergency services.

Construction is set to wrap up in 2021.

This is the second new veterans health care center coming to eastern Oklahoma. Sallisaw is slated to house another.
