TULSA -- Construction has begun on a popular walking and running trail in midtown Tulsa.
The entire trail at LaFortune Park will be replaced with eight-foot wide asphalt and will follow the same path.
The construction will take 10 to 12 months.
Funding for the improvements are from Vision 2025, Proposition IV Community Enrichment, at a cost of nearly $1.5 million.
The park is maintained by the Tulsa County Parks department. Officials said the trail was built in the late 1970s and has only had minor repairs since then.
