TULSA – A Connecticut man is being accused of threatening to physically harm the Tulsa police officer who fatally shot unarmed Terence Crutcher.
Official documents show that Jeffrey Stevens is accused of using a computer to threaten to kill, or execute, Tulsa Police Officer Betty Shelby.
Shelby is currently facing first degree manslaughter charges for the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher in September.
Crutcher, 40, was fatally shot after, a department spokesperson says, he did not comply with orders to put his hands up. Footage from the scene does show Crutcher with his hands in the air at one point.
Stevens is also accused of threatening to harm Tulsa Police Department Chief Chuck Jordan. Furthermore, his charges include allegations that he made threats to family members of those on the Tulsa Police Department. The documents specifically mentioned threatening to kill a former TPD police chief by burning them to death.
