Community appreciation luncheon

and last updated

This afternoon first responders, their families, and evacuees pulled up a chair to enjoy a meal together, courtesy of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

The lunch took place at the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa Today.

Mayor G.T. Bynum says the community remains resilient, despite two weeks of turbulent conditions.

Bynum told us "No one's sitting around feeling sorry for themselves or moping. Instead, bad things have happened. We've been hit by two tornadoes and a flood in the last two weeks, and yet everyone's focused on what's the next thing I can do today to help people who've been harmed by this."

The mayor said Ruth's Chris came forward with today's event, as they were appreciative of all the work done to keep people safe.
