A local orthodontist clinic is doing their part to help those on the front lines.
Emerson Orthodontics says they worked with some friends to start Collect to Protect.
They're collecting items like gloves and those in-demand N-95 masks that are needed by doctors and nurses.
Amy Emerson says she kept hearing stories of people not having PPE equipment and she discovered that people had these masks in their garage, or at construction businesses, vet offices and dentist offices.
"It's been surprising to me that a lot of friends call me excited, because they went into their garage not really expecting to find them, but kind of remembering, 'Hey, I think we had a box of masks for a painting project or for when we sprayed the yard,'" Emerson said. "And they call me excited because they realize it's exactly the item that many doctors and nurses are needing right now."
If you'd like to donate, you can contact Amy on Facebook and drop items off at Emerson Orthodontics.
