Clay Bennett resigns from OU Board of Regents, cites health reasons

Clay Bennett, chairman of the Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma, has resigned from the board due to health reasons, according to theOU Daily.

Bennett underwent brain surgery last year, but other details about his health have not been made public.

The announcement was made during the regents meeting on Wednesday afternoon. Regent Leslie Rainbolt-Forbes immediately replaced his position.

Bennett was appointed to the board in 2011 by former Gov. Mary Fallin.

Bennett is chairman of Dorchester Capital, which is an investment firm, and he is chairman of the Professional Basketball Club, LLC, which is made up of a group of businessmen, including Tulsa's George Kaiser, who hold an ownership stake in the Oklahoma City Thunder.
