CLAREMORE, Okla. - A wrongful death lawsuit was filed Monday against the city of Claremore by a woman whose husband died during a rescue.
According to court documents, Shelli Farley, Capt. Jason Farley's widow, is suing the city of Claremore for damages in excess of $75,000.
Shelli Farley told 2 Works for You her reason for filing the lawsuit Monday. "The whole purpose of the lawsuit is to address safety concerns for the emergency personnel for the city of Claremore."

Farley died in May of 2015 during a water rescue when he slipped into a drainage ditch and drowned in the flood waters.
Farley was one of seven Claremore Fire Department personnel working on evacuating residents from Archer Court due to flash flooding.
