Claremore residents fear missing black Labradors are result of theft

CLAREMORE, Okla. -- Colby Clark lost his black lab mix in September, after owning the dog for about 10 years.

The lifelong Tiawah resident said he has multiple dogs, and he doesn't understand why Lily went missing after being left alone for only 30 minutes.

"Her collar was still on the cable she was tied to. But it was opened, not like if she pulled herself loose from it. It was like someone walked up and unclipped it... opened the collar and she was gone," Clark said.

Peggy Isbester found Clark on Facebook. She posted when her black lab Karleigh went missing in October.

On "Rogers County Lost and Found Pets," Isbester came across four others with black labs who suddenly went missing over the last few months. The dog owner reached out to neighbors as well to look for answers.

"They saw a lady in a four door yellow car get out of her car, tell them she was taking the dog, then put the dog in the car and drove away," Isbester said.

The Tiawah resident said her dog needed heart medication, and she hopes the lab is doing okay.

"The two little boys we have at home are always asking about her. One time our son even came home crying from school, saying he missed Karleigh so much," Isbester said.

Everyone we spoke with tells us they did not reach out to police, believing officers wouldn't be able to solve the problem. The Rogers County Sheriff's Office does recommend reporting unusual activity like this.
