CLAREMORE, Okla. -- Claremore police have closed down a road near Rogers State University after a deadly crash on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash, involving a dump truck carrying gravel and car near Blue Starr and Highway 88, happened at about 2 p.m.
Officials said the dump truck was heading south on Highway 88m and the car was headed east on Blue Starr when they collided. The driver of the car, a 76-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the curve at the entrance to RSU will be shut down until about 6 p.m. during the investigation into the crash.
Drivers on Will Rogers Boulevard will be diverted into RSU. Drivers traveling southbound on State Highway 88 will be diverted onto Blue Starr.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
