TULSA — City of Tulsa officials say construction of the new pool at Whiteside Park will begin the week of Sept. 16.
The pool will remain a junior pool, with a maximum depth of 4.5 feet, and both the pool, bath house will be rebuilt to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, officials say.
The Whiteside Park pool is scheduled to be completed in late Summer of 2020 (weather depending).
Officials say the park will remain open while the pool is under construction. And the Whiteside Park Splash Pad will be open in Summer of 2020.
City officials say, "This is the third pool to be rebuilt as part of the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa program. The new McClure Park pool opened in 2018, and the new Lacy Park pool opened July 4, 2019. Improve Our Tulsa included funds to rebuild five pools – McClure, Lacy, Whiteside, Reed and Berry. Design of a new Reed Park pool is currently in progress.
