TULSA — The City of Tulsa is watching the threat of flooding in various areas of Tulsa and other parts of Green Country.

The Emergency Operations Center is increasingly aware of the threat of flooding in parts of Tulsa, Turley, Skiatook, Sperry, Collinsville, Bixby, Jenks, Broken Arrow and Sand Springs.
At 12 P.M. the Emergency Operations Center is expected to be fully activated and increased to a Level 1, which means local, state and federal authorities are responding.
The Army Corps of Engineers say 215,000 cubic feet per second is expected to be released from Keystone Dam by 2 P.M. Wednesday. Moderate flooding is expected in the Tulsa metro.
Officials are making notification to residents in high risk flood areas by uniform officers in marked police vehicles with lights and sirens.
It is recommended residents living in affected neighborhoods and in a 100-year floodplain...
● Listen to first responders in your area and prepare for possible evacuations
● Pack a bag with prescriptions and clothing for multiple-day period
● Charge your cell phones, put valuables in a higher place, bring your pets with you
● Bring important identification with you and take videos/pictures of your home for insurance purposes
Once evacuated, residents might not be able to get back to evacuated areas.
The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center for those who might be displaced at Crosstown Church of Christ at 3400 E Admiral. You may bring service animals to that shelter. All other pets need to go to the temporary shelter at the fairgrounds at Expo Square (south entrance) from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Bird Creek near Owasso is projected to crest at 29.5 feet late tonight. At this stage, disastrous flooding will occur between North Tulsa and Owasso and north Tulsa and Catoosa. This will be comparable to the flooding which occurred in 1974. This is an extremely dangerous and life threatening situation.
Tulsa County is handling resource requests for Sperry, Jenks and Bixby.
