TULSA - City leaders are asking for input on a new route designed to improve bus transportation.

Neighbors can share their thoughts Tuesday and Wednesday during six public meetings about the Peoria Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, which will run more often between 38th Street North and the intersection of 81st and Lewis.

City leaders will hold two workshops Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Spirit Life Church, 5345 S. Peoria Avenue, and at Centennial Park's Central Center, 1334 N. Lansing Avenue.

Another workshop will be held Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Morton Comprehensive Health Services at 1334 N. Lansing Avenue.

The city will hold three "walkshops" outside Wednesday at these locations:

  •  South Tulsa Community House, 5780 S. Peoria Avenue, 9 to 10 a.m.
  •  Centennial Park parking lot, Sixth and Peoria Avenue, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  •  Gateway Market parking lot, 1601 N. Peoria Avenue, 3 to 4 p.m.

The feedback that city leaders get from these different meetings will contribute to a land use study related to the BRT project. People can help identify issues and economic development opportunities at bus stop locations on this newer, faster route for the city's transit system.
