Have storm debris? The City has pickup days

Posted

TULSA – If the strong storms left debris and other greenwaste items in your yard, the City of Tulsa has a solution.

The City is offering a special greenwaste removal day for those in need of a cleanup after the strong storms in April.

There will be one sweep for residents in two cleanup zones from Tuesday May 3 to Friday May 6 starting at 7 a.m. each day.

The zones are listed below.

East of the Arkansas River from 41st St. to I-44, Riverside Dr. to Harvard Ave.

West of the Arkansas River from 41st St. to I44, 33rd West Ave. to the Arkansas River.

According to the City, the greenwaste must be within four feet of the curb and not placed near utilities and fire hydrants. They went on to say that they cannot pick up the greenwaste if it is “contaminated with other debris.”

For residents that need to dispose of storm debris, bulky waste service is available at no cost for residents in the affected areas through Friday, May 27. Residents can call (918) 596-9777 to request a bulky waste service. Storm debris should not be placed in the refuse or recycling carts.

Residents near the two affected areas that do not fall within the identified boundaries and believe they should qualify for the special greenwaste removal can call (918) 596-9777.
