TULSA — City of Tulsa officials announced street and lane closures needed to repair a leaking waterline near East 15th Street and South Yale Avenue.

Officials say Water Distribution personnel are fixing a 24-inch leaking waterline that is causing ice hazards in the area.

During the repair, that begins Wednesday, Dec. 18, East 15th Street will be closed at South Yale Avenue, while South Yale Avenue will be taken down to one lane, in both directions, at 15th Street.

Officials say that eastbound traffic on 15th Street will detour to either north or south on Yale Avenue.

Westbound traffic on 15th Street will detoured north to Allegheny Avenue and then west on east 14th Street to Yale Avenue.

This waterline repair is expected to be completed by Friday, Dec. 20.

Officials say the water will be turned off in this area from late Thursday, Dec. 19 to Friday, Dec. 20.

Once the waterline is repaired, a contractor will begin repairing the intersection of East 15th Street and South Yale Avenue.

Officials say that the lanes are estimated to reopened by Tuesday, Dec. 24.
