MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The City of Muskogee officially name their new fire chief this week.
Michael O’Dell has been with the Muskogee Fire Department for more than 26 years.
O'Dell says he is "excited and humbled" by his new position.
"It’s a great honor. I think all new firemen aspire to reach that point and I feel very honored and privileged to be there."
O'Dell’s appointment comes after Chief Derek Tatum announced he would be retiring.
