BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- The city of Broken Arrow on Wednesday will begin construction on a memorial park dedicated to victims of the Bever family murders in 2015.
Groundbreaking is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at 709 Magnolia Court.
In 2017, private donors gave $50,000 to purchase the home, which has been removed. Officials say the notoriety of the killings of five family members at the home had made the home a target of vandals and onlookers.

Both Robert Bever and Michael Bever were found guilty in the killings. Robert Bever was sentenced to life in prison, and a jury recently recommended life in prison for Michael Bever.
The memorial park will be merged with the existing Indian Springs mini-park bordering the property.
