TULSA, Okla. — The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort has made available congregations in the Tulsa area where flood victims can receive help.

The Crosstown Church of Christ and Park Church of Christ in Tulsa, as well as the Sand Springs Church of Christ, are joining together in the recovery effort.

The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort immediately responds to any major disaster in the continental United States through the leadership of local congregations.

The group says it has distributed more than $2 million in supplies to victims across the nation during the first three months of 2019.

Since last week, Crosstown Church of Christ at Indianapolis and Admiral in Tulsa has been a Red Cross emergency shelter for area residents and service animals. It also is a COC distribution center. According to the Crosstown Facebook page, members are doing all they can to lift the spirits of those who have lost everything.

Crosstown also reported on Monday there are 70 people staying in the congregation's activity center. Crosstown said with the help of Park Church's van, 19 people were able to go to a laundromat, with another trip planned for others.

They say of the families staying at Crosstown are in need of basic supplies and dry clothing. They continue to accept as many people as possible in the overnight shelter as flooding progresses. To donate to the fund to assist, you can click here.

The Park Church and Sand Springs Church of Christ will have boxed food, baby care items, personal care items and cleaning supplies through the COC Disaster Relief Effort. Park Church, at 96th and Garnett, will distribute from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. each day. The Sand Springs COC will open the doors to its activity center at 4301 S. 113th West Ave., beginning on Thursday from 3-7 p.m., and the days thereafter, to hand out the same supplies to flood victims west of Tulsa.

To receive help at Park or Sand Springs, you need to present a valid ID card with your current address showing you are a flood or tornado victim. Neither of those churches are set up to receive donations and are distribution centers only.
