CHOUTEAU, Okla.--- In a 2 Works For You follow-up, residents at the Chouteau Bend Recreational area have only one more before they will have to move.
Many say they're still not sure how that will happen.
Now new managers are taking a new approach to helping these residents find new homes.
"I can't move, I can't sell, I can't do anything," said Alan, a Chouteau Bend resident.
Alan may not know what will happen to his mobile home right now, but he still considers himself lucky.
"Thank God we have a place to go, but a lot of people here don't," he said.
"Each individual case will be addressed as it comes along," said new property manager Brian Rostron.
Three weeks after residents were notified of the closure by the Army Corps of Engineers, nearly fifty homes still remain.
Engineers say the park is plagued with septic and electrical problems.
Rostron took over the property from Carolyn and Eddie Sinor, but now he's willing to work with folks past that July 19 closure.
"I"m sorry that's in the situation that it is, but when there's the health risk and all that kind of stuff that's going around, it's best for them to find more suitable living places," said Rostron.
It means many of those may still be here after next Wednesday, a sign of hope for many residents.
"We got our health, we got each other, and we got a roof over our head and we're eating regular. That's a lot more than a lot of people in this old world have," said Alan.
Rostron said a meeting for all of the remaining residents to discuss different accommodations before July 19.
He says he will allow residents to temporarily stay beyond the closure date if they are making progress on moving out.
