Tulsa police say a child's head injury suffered at a local Independence Day celebration could be the result of celebratory gunfire.
According to police, the 9-year-old suffered the injury around 9:50 Monday night at the Folds of Honor FreedomFest at Veterans Park.
Police say the boy told his parents something hit him in the head.
At the hospital, doctors discovered a bullet in the boy's head.
He is listed in stable condition and police say doctors will remove the bullet.
There's a second victim of possible celebratory gunfire. The 35-year-old man went to the hospital on Wednesday morning after pain in his jaw got worse.
Doctors found bullet fragments in his face.
The man said he was walking back to his car after seeing the fireworks at Veteran's Park when he felt something sharp hit his face.
Cpl. James Stump says police will gather as much information as possible from the scene and then determine how the investigation will proceed.
