The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department is reporting that a 3-year old child died Saturday night, after being pulled from the water at the popular Flint Creek Water Park, near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border, in Delaware County.

At 7:40 p.m. the GRDA received a report of a drowning.

Upon arrival they were informed that two siblings, ages 3 and 2, had been recovered after being underwater for an extended time.

CPR was performed on both children before transporting them to a hospital in Siloam Springs, AR.

The 2-year old was resuscitated but the 3-year old was later pronounced dead.

According to officials, both children were wearing life jackets and were playing in shallow water earlier in the day.

The children removed the jackets while getting ready to leave and had returned to the water without being noticed.

The GRDA is continuing its investigation, no other details are available at this time.
