SAND SPRINGS, Okla. – Charges have been filed against the teen accused of stabbing his father with an ax and then fleeing.
On July 1, the 16-year-old drove off after reportedly stabbing his father who had several lacerations on his body, says Sand Springs police.
On July 5, three counts, assault and battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of robbery, were filed for the teen as a youthful offender. Due to the suspect’s youthful status, his identification will not be posted at this time.
The youthful offender was arrested on the Fourth of July at a gas station in Carthage, Missouri. Authorities were able to use cellphone GPS to locate the suspect.
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office informed local authorities that a hatchet and a handgun were in the vehicle the teen was using.
