OWASSO, Okla. – The charges filed against a mother accused of trying to get her daughters to blow into a Breathalyzer type device used to start her engine.
Kayla Weliwita has been officially charged with child neglect and public intoxication after attempting to have employees at a restaurant and her daughters breathe into the ignition locking device hooked up to her vehicle, say Owasso police.
Police went on to say that Weliwita was discovered after the restaurant employees called them. When they arrived, her daughters claimed their mother was drunk.
One daughter told Owasso police that her mother pulled her hair, punched her and tried to force her to breathe into the device.
Currently Weliwita is behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
