PITTSBURG COUNTY, Okla. — An Oklahoma principal who was charged with child abuse saw his charges dismissed without prejudice Friday.
Gary Gunckel was charged back in October 2018 with two counts of child abuse for paddling two elementary school students, ages 10 and 11, while he was principal with the Indianola Public Schools District.
Gunckel had been placed on administrative leave after the charges were filed.
School officials said Gunckel was reinstated and started back at work Monday.
