This flu season, more than 1,700 Oklahomans have been hospitalized for the virus.
While that number seems high, the CDC says this year's shot is working.
The CDC says the vaccine reduced doctor visits associated with flu by 45%.
For the influenza B and Victoria viruses it was 50% effective, but it was only 37% effective against influenza A.
Doctors say flu season is likely to continue for several more weeks.
