Case Community Park Using Caution While Under Pandemic

and last updated

Last spring, much of Green Country was under water from the floods.

This caused events to cancel and areas to close, including parts of Case Community Park in Sand Springs.

The repairs to the park are finally complete, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of the parks amenities are closed again.

Damaging waters caused a lot of issues for the park, it took nearly a year to put everything back in working order.

Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus, the park has had to close again,

The facilities, playgrounds, and splash pads all have closed again to keep the visitors safe.

The Parks Director, Jeff Edwards, tells us, “One of the things with parks and recs agencies, is we have interactions with the public so much and hand contact, a lot of the amenities you see here, splash pads, playgrounds, they’re all hand contact items.”

Edwards says they are using caution and listening to recommendations from the CDC, THD, and elected officials before opening back up to the public.

The park hopes to reopen the amenities around June 1st.
