A short pursuit ended in a violent crash into an innocent woman's car early Thursday morning.
It all started just after midnight when an officer noticed a Nissan Maxima driving erratically through a neighborhood near Pine and North Lewis.
The officer initiated a traffic stop, but when he tried to approach the vehicle, it sped away.
A police helicopter was close by and picked up the pursuit which lasted less than a minute after the suspect's vehicle hit a woman's car at the intersection of East Virgin & North Atlanta Avenue.
Tulsa officers found more evidence of illegal activity in the suspect's car.
"We also discovered evidence of drug distribution in the suspects vehicle, so i'm sure we're going to be looking into that," said Sergeant Darin Ehrenrich. "Right now we have advanced traffic investigators on scene investigating the collision."
Officers administered first aid on the victim and suspect before fire and EMSA paramedics arrived.
The jaws of life had to be used to get the woman out of car and the suspect had a leg injury which prevented police from pulling him out of his vehicle.
Both are expected to be okay.
