TULSA – Traffic backups ensued Thursday morning after a two vehicle wreck caused one lane of the northbound US-169 exit ramp on I-244 westbound and three eastbound lanes of I-244 to be temporarily blocked.

Not long after the wreck occurred, crews were able to reopen the northbound exit ramp from US-169 to I-244 but the two outside lanes of I-244 eastbound were closed while a sign hanging from the overpass was removed due to damage.

OHP reports that two vehicles collided on the US-169 northbound exit ramp to westbound I-244. One of the cars “came off” the overpass landing on the eastbound lanes of I-244.

ODOT reports that the overturned truck hit an overhead sign and fell onto the Interstate 244 eastbound. The driver of the vehicle is reportedly not injured but ODOT reports they will look into the safety of the bridge.

HAZMAT was called to clean any spilled fluids in the area as well.
