Car crash knocks out power in South Tulsa

TULSA -- More than 1,000 homes were without power in South Tulsa late Sunday night after a car crashed into a power pole.

According to PSO, 1,187 customers lost power at 10:50 PM. The area mostly affected customers along East 101st Street, between Sheridan and Memorial. Power was restored to all customers by 1:00 AM.

Bixby Police said a black Dodge Charger crashed into a power pole in front of the CVS Pharmacy at 101st and South Memorial. An officer said the driver tried running away from the scene, but was captured and arrested by Bixby Police.

The driver narrowly missed crashing into the CVS sign. No information has been released about the driver's identity.
