BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Ahead of the holiday season, merchants in Broken Arrow are encouraging shoppers to buy local by offering a financial incisive.

The 25th annual 'Buy Broken Arrow' holiday program kicks off today. Shoppers can collect tickets by shopping at participating stores in Broken Arrow, then entering their tickets in a drawing to win $10,000.

Organizers of the campaign say the program is about strengthening the community from the inside.

"We want people here shopping local helping our community and for those tax dollars to stay in Broken Arrow to help build Broken Arrow,” said Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce Events and Communications Director, Jessica Mugg. “That’s your streets, your roads, your fire, your police, it helps build a bigger stronger community."

Like in previous years for the campaign, shoppers have a chance to win $2,000, $3000, or $10,000. This year, shoppers also have a chance to win $250 in a weekly drawing.

To get tickets for the $250 drawing, shoppers must visit a business with 25 employees or less and post a picture of the business on social media with the hashtag “#BUYBA” in their post. Each week the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce will draw a ticket from the business who has the most hashtags to pick the winner of the weekly $250 prize.

Moody’s is the programs presenting sponsor. There are around 75 stores participating this year.
