TULSA, Okla. — Terrifying cell phone video captured the moment multiple people assaulted 16-year-old Brian Hulse on Friday night at Johnson Park near 61st and Riverside.

Hulse was not only assaulted but also stripped down to his underwear in the video. The vicious attack left a shoe print on Hulse’s head and several bruises on his body.

He believes someone he considered a long time friend set him up.

“She said that she likes me and she goes and sets me up," Hulse said. "So, yeah my feelings were hurt.”

Hulse said he's known the person he thinks is responsible for his attack since the third grade.

According to family, Hulse is autistic and has other developmental issues. His father, Brian Hellen, is heartbroken because he dropped him off where the assault happened and feels like he didn’t protect his son.

“I kind of blame myself because if I’d just stayed around or not took him there,” Hellen said.

A bystander who saw the attack called Tulsa police who are now investigating the incident. Tulsa police told 2 Works For You they identified two of the individuals involved in the assault on Brian. They are actively investigating to identify the others.

Investigators said each person will be charged with assault and more charges could be possible.

Hulse said he doesn't understand why the person he's known for so long would have him attacked.

“Me and her were friends and stuff," Hulse said.

Mental health expert Chelsea Edwards of Life Senior Services said children with autism are unable to see the gray areas of human behavior.

"Betrayal is very painful and difficult to understand," Edwards said.

Edwards, whose son is autistic, said parents who find their child in a similar situation as Hulse should get therapy for them immediately.
